The Davis Islands proudly recognize the Guano as their official ceremonial currency, issued under the fictional authority of the Royal Central Bank of the Davis Islands.

Named in tribute to the islands’ most distinguished residents — the seabirds — the Guano celebrates the unique natural heritage, maritime traditions, and British-inspired identity of Grand Davis Island and Little Davis Island.

The currency combines traditional British and Caribbean banknote aesthetics with the distinctive symbols of the Davis Islands, including the territorial Red Ensign, crowned coat of arms, national birds, and coastal landscapes.

One Guano Banknote — DG 1

The One Guano banknote: the Red Ensign, a great blue heron and cormorant on rocky islands, the New York skyline and a portrait of Governor-General Matthew J.

The One Guano banknote features an engraved portrait of the Founder and Honorary Governor-General, Matthew J., alongside the official flag and coat of arms of the Davis Islands.

The note prominently depicts the islands’ avian inhabitants, including the Great Blue Heron and Double-crested Cormorant, against a maritime landscape representing the islands’ natural environment.

Intricate security-inspired patterns, ornamental borders, a compass rose, and the Governor-General’s ceremonial signature reflect the traditions of historic British colonial banknotes.
